A diverse team of scientists, soldiers and adventurers unite to explore a mythical, uncharted island in the Pacific, as dangerous as it is beautiful. As their mission of discovery becomes one of survival, they must fight to escape a primal Eden in which humanity does not belong.

A good Sunday afternoon creature feature. Ray Harryhausen would of been enjoying popcorn to this monster fest but times have moved on and as much as he wanted Vogt-Roberts didn’t capture the fun and excitement of those early 80s movies. At times it was tired and even worse tedious. Kong is no longer king

you can do a lot of things with a Kong movie but I never envisaged a mash up with Apocalypse Now, the only problem is they couldn’t decide which movie won the leading role. The CGI is amazing but once again it was geared up for 3D so looses its impact, add a splash of really bad continuity and even Kong’s massive strength and hands couldn’t push the score past a 6.
